Mid-week Devotion

Mid-week devotion 01.14.15
Greetings Sisters and Brothers of Calvary UMC!
Praying that you are all well and finding warmth and comfort from the frigid temperatures of the last few days. This is my mid-week devotion to remind us of the love and grace of God that knows no limits and has no boundaries but is ever searching and seeking His children out that we might know the love of God found in His Son, Jesus Christ!
Last week one of the great gospel singers and writers of our era, Andrae Crouch passed away. His music was instrumental in the gospel field and many gospel and contemporary Christian singers are singing today because of the music of Andrea Crouch. His music touched a generation and beyond. Andrae had talent and ability in singing and writing and playing and most likely could have had a very successful career as a secular singer and songwriter but he knew who gave him the talent and ability and he knew who to play for and thank through his music and life. So Andrae life and music was a life of ministry, worship, and devotion to God.
One of Andrae most loved songs was “My Tribute.” A song that spoke of God’s faithfulness in his life and his desire for all the praise and glory to be returned to God. If you were to write of God’s faithfulness in your life what would you write? What would be created on paper? You may be amazed if you took pen to paper and connected with the Spirit and just started writing your feelings out and see where the Spirit leads you to write. Often through prayer and exercises like writing thoughts on paper new revelations come forth on God and faith and His involvement in our life and ways we can make our life a tribute to God in response to the wonderful blessings God has given us.
“Just let me live my life. Let it be pleasing God to thee. And should I gain any praise, let it go to Calvary. To God be the glory, to God be the glory, to God be the glory for the things He has done. With His blood He has saved me; with His power He has raised me; to God be the glory for the things He has done” “My Tribute” by Andrae Crouch
May we all seek to live our lives in ways that bring honor and glory to God for the wonderful gifts and blessings that God has bestowed on us.
May your life be a tribute to the God who loves you with an everlasting love!
In Jesus, we find the love and acceptance we have been searching for our whole life,
Pastor Eric
